Reimagine History is a project inspired by my personal aesthetic and interest in Western historical costumes. Research in this area often emphasizes the importance of historical accuracy when replicating these garments. Fashion serves as a tool to learn about societal structures, backgrounds, and lifestyles.

We typically study history through existing objects and garments, but we rarely consider why fashion has transitioned from its noble, luxurious origins to the fast, mass-produced industry we see today. This project aims to explore how historical garments can be reconstructed and reinterpreted through contemporary fashion.

I got started in fashion driven by a deep passion for self-expression. I’m intrigued by how clothing can transform and convey different stories. Each of my projects begins with a personal narrative, and the design process is how I explore and define my identity.

I wanted to get into fashion because I believe it is a powerful medium for expressing individual identity. Fashion influences how people feel about themselves and allows them to express their uniqueness through their clothing choices.

I’ve always been fascinated by Western Baroque-style designs and their magnificent costumes. For this collection, I explored the story behind historical fashion and questioned why these beautiful historical garments are no longer in vogue, having been replaced by fast fashion. I then envisioned using modern techniques to reconstruct and reinterpret these historical costumes.

I stay updated on emerging trends in two main ways: first, by browsing VOGUE Runway to check out new collections from various brands, and second, by following influential fashion bloggers and designers. Additionally, shopping or window shopping helps me understand local fashion trends.

The most important thing is to build a strong portfolio. Your portfolio acts as your identity in the fashion industry. It’s crucial to continuously update it and showcase your strengths so that industry professionals can remember you.

I draw significant inspiration from John Galliano and Martin Margiela. Galliano’s creative design ideas, the stories behind each season, and his stunning silhouettes are particularly influential in my work.
